The swelling legions of the super-rich are no longer content with your basic yacht.

Only a mega-yacht will do – with, for starters, a parking bay for the Ferrari, a heliport and a jacuzzi.

On display at a recent nautical expo in the northern Italian port of Genoa, gleaming in the autumn sunshine, were about 30 of these beauties.

“Five years ago you would never have imagined a yacht measuring 100 metres and now they’re talking about boats 150 metres long,” said Alex Mazzoni, a trade representative for Fraser Yachts.
