Maritime authorities arrested 24 Chinese fishermen caught poaching in waters off the western province of Palawan, the Philippine Coast Guard said Monday.
A PCG vessel found the Kwok Tai Hai anchored off the coast of Balabac Island, part of Palawan, Saturday and gave chase when the foreign vessel set off.
The vessel was intercepted and boarded as it headed towards Malaysian waters, local coast guard commander, Lieutenant Alucibetho Piodo, told AFP.
