American Commercial Lines Inc. (“ACL” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: ACLI) today announced results for the three and nine month periods ended September 30, 2006. Revenue for the quarter was $267 million, a 59% increase compared with $167 million for the third quarter 2005. Net income for the quarter was $28.4 million or $0.90 per diluted share compared to net income of $3.5 million or $0.15 for the third quarter last year. Net income from continuing operations for the quarter was $25.1 million or $0.80 per diluted share compared to $1.3 million or $0.06 per diluted share for the third quarter of last year.
