Van Oord Ireland Limited, a subsidiary of Van Oord has been awarded the marine element of the works for the Limerick Tunnel PPP scheme as sub-contractor to Directroute (Limerick) Construction Limited. The contract value for Van Oord is some EUR 24 million. The scheme is due to commence in the summer of 2008 and is programmed to take 46 weeks to completion.
