Mayor David Madden said a dredging of the Fore River in North Weymouth by a Quincy firm will remove excess sediment from the bottom of the channel to prevent oil tankers and large vessels from running aground while going to local ports.
“We don’t anticipate the project will have any negative effect on residents as they go about their business,” the mayor said.
