Welder dies in shipyard blast

A welder from Mexico was killed in an explosion at a Harvey shipyard Tuesday evening. The man, whose name was not released pending notification of family, was preparing to enter a section of the hull of the boat the KLJ Erickson, which was drydocked at the Bollinger Quick Repair yard in Harvey.
