Koninklijke Vopak N.V. (Royal Vopak) has announced that it will begin constructing the new Vopak Terminal Linkeroever for the storage and transhipment of liquid chemicals in Antwerp (Belgium) in February 2007. After the environmental permit was issued recently, Vopak made a start on the preparatory groundwork. Phase 1 of the new terminal, with a storage capacity of 100,000 cbm (divided over 60 tanks), will be operational in the second quarter of 2008. The capacity of the entire terminal will be 400,000 cbm.
