Bob Oatley’s 98 footer Wild Oats XI is just behind the race record pace 20 miles short of Port Stephens at 5pm this afternoon in the 2007 Pittwater Coffs Harbour race. She has already chewed up more 60 miles of the 228 mile course and if the breeze swings east holds into the evening the 2003 race record is in danger.
