The newbuilding was named the m.v. OOCL Yokohama, by sponsor Dr. Jane C K Chan, the wife of Prof. Yue-Chim Richard Wong, Provost of the University of Hong Kong at the Geoje Shipyard of Samsung Heavy Industries in Korea.
