The Port of Houston Authority has cut its proposed bond issue to $250 million — less than half of what it originally requested, said Jim Edmonds, chairman of the port commission.

This request , which is expected to be approved by the port commission Thursday, is down from the $550 million the Port was seeking orignally. The funding mainly is for construction of its Bayport container facility and cruise terminal.
