Subsea 7’s new state-of-the-art vessel commences first project

Subsea 7’s new state-of-the-art deepwater rigid pipelay vessel ‘Seven Oceans’ has arrived in the Port of Leith, Edinburgh to commence operations for its first major installation project, for the Chevron Blind Faith development, in the Gulf of Mexico.

Two (2) x 7km 7in pipelines have been fabricated at Subsea 7’s spoolbase in Leith and are currently being spooled onboard the Seven Oceans. The vessel will transit to Theodore, Alabama, US for project equipment mobilisation prior to the in-field installation operations that will take place late September/early October 2007.
