Three Dutchmen with strong links to the Volvo Ocean Race have set a unique record aboard an Extreme 40 catamaran for sailing around the offshore windmill park Egmond aan Zee in The Netherlands.

Former Olympic Tornado champion, Herbert Dercksen, the driving force behind the Extreme 40 catamaran series, was accompanied by Simeon Tienpont and Gerd Jan Poortman, team mates on ABN AMRO TWO, as part of a five-man crew.
