On 15 September 2007, the ‘Norwegian Gem’ was transported from the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg along the River Ems to the North Sea. The latest luxury liner in the Norwegian Cruise Line fleet will be powered by five 12V48/60B engines from MAN Diesel, the Augsburg-based large-bore diesel engine specialist. The engines’ combined output is 72 MW (97,800 hp).
