Amid a boiling bulk-freight market and dramatic change unfolding in the grain industry, WA grain handling, storage and marketing giant CBH has made its biggest step yet into the shipping and transport sector.

The farmers’ co-operative, through its relatively new shipping joint venture United Bulk Carriers (UBC), has taken an unprecedented two-year time charter on a brand new 56,000-tonne bulk-freight carrier.
