Sevan Platform in hurricane/cyclone conditions

Sevan Marine has carried out a joint industry program with participation from several oil companies, for the purpose of evaluating the Sevan unit’s ability to stay connected under cyclone/hurricane conditions. As a part of the program, model tests have been carried out at Marintek’s ocean laboratory in Trondheim using a Sevan 1000 scale model. The results were very satifactory and show that the Sevan unit can stay connected even under a 10,000 year hurricane/cyclone condition.
