APM Terminals Algeciras has been recognized by the Junta de Andalucía for its social and economic contributions to Spain’s second-largest, and most populous autonomous community.

The Junta de Andalucía, the government of the Spanish Autonomous Community of Andalucía, has honored APM Terminals with the 2008 Andalucía Flag Award in recognition of its “success in bringing social and economic progress” to the region. Andalucía, in southernmost Spain, is the second-largest of Spain’s 17 autonomous communities in terms of area (slightly larger than Austria) and the largest in terms of population, with 8 million.
