Van Oord Offshore signed a contract with client Rompetrol for the installation of an oil unloading system in The Black Sea in Romania. This contract has a value of EUR 56 million. The project will commence early May and be completed before end 2008.

The contract contains an EPIC contract (Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commisioning) for the Midia Marine Terminal in Romania. The project entails the installation of an SPM (Single Point Mooring) system in the Black Sea. The SPM will be used for oil unloading by crude tankers of a maxiumum of 160,000 DWT and will be connected to an onshore refinery by a 8.700m long pipeline.
