keel of a big cruise ferry was laid in Aker Yards, Rauma on 22 April, 2008. The vessel, built under working name ‘Cruise 5’ will be delivered to Tallink in spring 2009. The vessel worth approx. 180 million euro means 1,700 man years of work for the yard.
The vessel will be a new development of the Galaxy-type cruise ferry built by Aker Yards. MS Galaxy is already operating since spring 2006, and the second one, in the series, ‘Baltic Princess’ is under construction at the yard in Helsinki.
