In March, Alnmaritec in the UK handed over the first of its new Wave Scanner class to her new owner in Holland.
Leda is a versatile survey boat which can be used for both inshore and offshore operations, and can be transported on a specially adapted truck. Her dimensions (9m x 3m) ensure that the truck and boat are fully roadworthy without requirement for an escort.
Leda is designed to be directionally stable for slow speed surveying yet she is seaworthy and has a surprising turn of speed to allow her to get quickly to offshore survey sites.
Fitted with twin Yanmar 240bhp engines and Hamilton waterjets she is very manoeuvrable and she has a spacious wheelhouse with a survey station, WC and small galley /sink. Leda also has a step down at the aft end to allow for ease of diving operations and a clear working deck aft which allows her to be used in a variety of different roles.
