Female sailors honoured for third year running

The organisers of Skandia Cowes Week are encouraging everyone to submit their nominations for this year’s Liz Earle Ladies Day Trophy via the Home page of theSkandia Cowes Week website, as soon as possible. Liz Earle Ladies Day is on the 7 August, but all nominations must be in before midday on Friday 1 August.

The simple nomination process starts by clicking the Liz Earle button on the right hand side of the Home Page and your nomination will help to ensure that the most deserving female sailors are in the running to win this prestigious title, now in its third year.

Double Olympic Gold medallist Shirley Robertson and Yachting World features editor Elaine Bunting will join Liz Earle and CWL’s Sales and Marketing Director, Michelle Warner, in short-listing the five nominees to go forward to the final line up. The exciting on-the-night announcement of this year’s recipient of the exquisite Liz Earle Ladies Day Trophy, presented by Dame Ellen MacArthur in front of an invited audience at the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club.

Liz Earle Ladies Day is all about recognising the achievements and contribution of women in sailing, from those who have overcome difficulties in order to succeed, to those who have undertaken remarkable challenges. In order to nominate yourself, or to put someone else’s name forward for nomination for outstanding contribution, commitment, or achievement in sailing generally (not just at Skandia Cowes Week) log on to: www.skandiacowesweek.co.uk.

In addition to the announcement of the Trophy winner, there’s a host of fun and celebratory activities planned for the Day, including: complimentary hand massages from Liz Earle Naturally Active Skincare at their retail unit on Cowes Parade; a 15% discount on all ladies-wear for female shoppers at the Henri Lloyd store in Cowes High Street; and a Rosé promotion in the Champagne G.H. Mumm bar in Cowes Yacht Haven.
