Synopsis: Added: Jul 01, 2008 7:28 am. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is soliciting prospective contractors for Maintenance Dredging of North Cover. The proposed work involves the maintenance dredging of an 11-foot channel, 100 feet wide and 1,900 feet long, from the 15-foot Connecticut River channel to the anchorage areas; two anchorages, 11 feet and 6 feet deep. The mechanical dredging proposal would dredge about 320,000 cubic yards of material with disposal at the Cornfield Shoals disposal site in Long Island Sound, about 4.5 miles away. The environmental dredging window for this work runs from October 1 through May 31, except in the main channel where dredging must stop by 1 April. The estimated production requirements is 50,000 cubic yards of material dredged and disposed during each 30-day period of work at the site. The NAICS code for this Procurement is 237990, with a Size Standard of $17.02 million. This solicitation is issued on an unrestricted basis.
