Odfjell Drilling has won a two year extension to its existing drilling and maintenance contract for work on Talisman Energy’s North Sea platforms. The contract extension also includes the provision for a further two year option, potentially extending until November 2012. Odfjell CEO Ketil Lenning said: “I am delighted to confirm that our partnership with Talisman will continue. This contract enables Odfjell Drilling to further expand its UK business activities.” Odfjell Drilling has provided drill crews to seven of Talisman’s installations for the past five years and currently employs some 200 offshore personnel as part of this contract. The contract value for the first two year period will be approximately £25 million.
