SCAN Geophysical said it saw revenues of NOK 137.5 million in the second quarter this year.

The seismic specialist made a net profit of NOK 6 million in the period, up from NOK 2 million in the same period in 2007.

SCAN said it had seen a strong contribution from its two vessles in production, which brought in NOK 53.2 million.

Production was also ahead of schedule after successful start up of the SCAN Stigandi in July, and the company sees a strong seismic market ahead with rates continuing to increase.

The company currently operates three seismic survey vessels, one 2D and two 3D streamer vessels, and will launch three newbuild state-of-the-art 10 streamer 3D vessels during 2008/09.
