Sweden’s PA Resources Group said it pumped 476,119 boe in July from its Norwegian and Tunisian operations at an average daily rate of 15,359 bbl.
July’s output brought total PA production for the six months to the end of July 2008 to 2.74m boe.
PA said output was boosted by a new production well coming on-stream at the Volve field and that an ongoing drilling program will further increase output.
The company added in a statement: “The new well Didon-7 at the Didon field in Tunisia has been producing since June.
“The well proved more oil than expected in this area of the field and had excellent test results, but has been choked back for reservoir management reasons in order to maximize oil recovery for a longer period.
“The hook-up of the production well EBB-3 in the El Bibane field offshore Tunisia has been completed and test production of oil commenced at the end of July.”
