A former senior executive with Transocean who went on to co-found the Norwegian-based AGR group has been appointed as the new head of Sevan Drilling.

Stein Giljarhus, who was senior vice president of operations for Transocean and who then co-founded AGR where he was executive chairman and chief executive officer will take up his new role from 1 November.

He most recently worked for Neptune Oil and Gas as chief executive.
