Trade Arabia News Service reports that tender documents are under preparation for Sohar Port’s proposed deep water jetty.

The US$200 million project is the next phase of expansion of the port and industrial area.

The project will involve the design, construction and maintenance of a deepwater jetty 1.2km in length for the import and export of bulk materials.

The project includes dredging of the existing approach channel and a new harbour basin to a depth of 23m intended for very large ore carriers.
