The Kingston Container Terminal recently was recognized as Best Container Terminal of the Year by the Caribbean Shipping Association. APM Terminals Jamaica Ltd. manages the terminal, which is owned by the Port Authority of Jamaica and handled 1.8 million TEUs in 2007. “We are grateful for this recognition of our terminal operations performance and very pleased to be able to contribute to the overall success of the Port of Kingston,” said Hans Evald Jensen, Managing Director of APM Terminals Jamaica Ltd. The award was presented to Jensen by CSA President Fernando Rivera during CSA’s 38th Annual Conference, hosted by the Port Authorities of Port of Spain, Trinidad, on October 15, 2008. The award recognizes a terminal’s overall efficiency and dependability, along with initiatives undertaken to achieve higher levels of productivity, growth and development.
