SMIT and British Petroleum (BP) have reached a settlement agreement with regard to the salvage services rendered to the semi-submersible rig “Thunderhorse” in the Gulf of Mexico, following evacuation in anticipation of the approach of hurricane “Dennis” in July 2005.
The positive impact of this settlement on the net profit (after tax) of SMIT is expected to be approximately EUR 10 million.
