BMT Baxter Eadie Ltd has completed an in-depth field study for a new port in the Gulf of Aqaba on the southern tip of Jordan. The company, part of the BMT Group, used its expertise to forecast traffic to the new port, which is due to open south of the current Port of Aqaba in 2012.
The study was conducted on behalf of the AYLA New Port Consortium, which is preparing a bid to design, build and operate the new port under a 30-year public-private partnership with the Jordanian government.
