IHC Beaver Dredgers, part of the IHC Merwede Group, has set up a new department to meet demand for prefabricated materials. The department has been in operation since January 2009 in Sliedrecht in The Netherlands and can prefabricate about 400 tons of parts a year.
The prefabricated materials can be broken down into two categories: prefabricated parts for the hull and major structural components, and the prefabricated components for the ship’s fittings.
