Russian oil company Lukoil has bought a 45% stake in the joint venture Total Refinery Netherlands in Flushing, for about $725m. TRN is one of the ten refineries supplied via the Port of Rotterdam, handling some 100 million tons of crude oil in total per year. Total is also a shareholder in the Rotterdam crude oil terminals Maasvlakte Olie Terminal, the Maatschap Europoort Terminal and the Rotterdam-Antwerpen Pijpleiding Maatschappij. It is likely that Lukoil will acquire an indirect share in storage and transport corresponding with that in ‘Flushing’. The deal was announced at the same time President Medvedev of the Russian Federation visited the Netherlands. Verwijzen naar bericht bezoek.
