Shell Australia yesterday announced that its Concerto-1 well had hit gas and could be developed commercially. This would make it the second offshore discovery in Western Australia. The other gas find is the Prelude field, located 16km away. “Work is now under way to establish the extent of the find,” said a Shell spokesperson. “It is too early to estimate volumes but the indications are sufficient for us to be looking at ways to commercialise it.”
