AMELS continues leadership in quality semi-custom market

AMELS has delivered the fifth LIMITED EDITIONS AMELS 171, exactly to the schedule her owner prescribed. The 52.30-meter yacht, designed by Tim Heywood, has an interior styling resulting from a collaboration between Laura Sessa Romboli and Nuvolari Lenard.

Production went without fault, including the enthusiastic participation of Nuvolari Lenard, who were designing their first AMELS yacht. As a result of meticulous planning, and the experience of five AMELS 171 builds, the yacht was completed in just eleven months after her hull was moved into AMELS’ Vlissingen complex. The final months were stress-free, and trials required only one day on the North Sea, including full acceptance by Lloyd’s Register and the owner, who called the yacht’s quality, finish, and delivery “above all expectations.” The yacht is managed by Imperial Yachts of Monaco.

Each new LIMITED EDITIONS yacht, shaped in cooperation with AMELS’ design and engineering departments, has further revolutionized the semi-custom market, making AMELS a world leader in the sector. The LIMITED EDITIONS concept is based on the philosophy of the Damen Shipyards Group, of which AMELS is the unique yacht-building member. DAMEN, with some 35 operations worldwide, believes that a successful shipyard should offer new designs that clients can customize within a well-planned platform, whether for commercial, military, or yacht applications. The Group delivers around 200 specialized vessels per year, has € 1.8 billion turnover and 8,000 employees.

There are currently nine projects under construction by AMELS, whose Order Book has scheduled deliveries into 2013.
