Singapore: Construction of Container Berth at Jurong Island to Start on July 15th

Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore informs the shipping, harbour craft and pleasure craft communities in Singapore’s waters that construction of container berth and stacking yard on West Jurong Channel at Jurong Island starts next week. Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore informs the shipping, harbour craft and pleasure craft communities in Singapore’s waters that construction of container berth and stacking yard on West Jurong Channel at Jurong Island starts next week.

Construction works will take place from 15 Jul 2010 to 14 Jan 2011.

Works include: Construction of the new container berth entail piling, concrete works, installation of walkways and construction of superstructure.

Piling and concrete works will be carried out by work barges. Marine surveys will be carried out within the site boundary. Installation of a temporary jetty will be carried out within the working area.
