USACE announces tender for construction and dredging works which includes dredging approximately 5 million cubic yards of material from Bar Cut-3, Entrance Channel, and Turning Basin, U. S. Naval Station Mayport, Duval County, Florida.

Approximately 2 million cubic yards of excavated material will be placed in the Jacksonville Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS) located approximately 5 miles southeast of Bar Cut-3.

The remainder of the excavated material will be placed in the Fernandina ODMDS located approximately 10 miles north-northeast of Bar Cut-3. Required depths for the project range from 50-feet MLLW to 52-feet MLLW.

There is a 2-foot allowable overdepth applied to all dredging areas.

Magnitude of construction is between $25,000,000.00 and $100,000,000.00.

The solicitation will be issued on or about 14 June 2010 with bids due on or about 29 July 2010.
