ST Australia was chosen via tender by TSMarine to create an end to end satellite VSAT communication solution for their two vessels REM Etive and Havilla Harmony.

TSMarine required installation, commissioning and ongoing operation and maintenance of VSAT communication systems onboard two existing vessels, the REM Etive and Havilla Harmony. Both vessels are predominantly operate in the Asia Pacific region, however coverage for all other regions (Europe and Africa) were also required. 24 hour support was provided and remote proactive management of the VSAT networks was seen as a significant advantage.

ASTA provided TS Marine a long term integrated VSAT solution on both vessels consisting of dual switching (2 per vessel), SeaTel 4009 KuBand antennas and high grade bandwidth for the Australasia region on the GE23 Satellite.

AST Australia also provided a content management solution known as the Satellite Communication Optimizer (SCO) allowing the vessel operator total control of their communications link preventing unwanted or inappropriate use. TSMarine were therefore able to preserve the bandwidth capabilities for priority applications and further controlling costs. Furthermore ASTA delivered a Thrane & Thrane Inmarsat FleetBroadband for remote technical support and out of band management.

ASTA’s Managing Director Henrik Jacobsen said that we are pleased to be working with a local company (TSMarine) providing best-of-breed technology to ensure that they are able to communicate effectively and efficiently with the vessels. We worked together with TSMarine to ensure their requirements were fully met and benefits were gained allowing them to run their day to day business at full capacity.

AST Australia provides the most flexible and complete range of satellite communications hardware, airtime, service and support to the maritime, land (mobile & fixed) and aviation markets in Australia and the Asia Pacific region.
