Norway: Wood Group Kenny Clinches FEED Contract for Jordbaer Field

The world’s largest subsea engineering and project management company, Wood Group Kenny, has been awarded the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and related project management support activities for the BG Norge AS, Jordbaer field development.

The proposed field development, located in the North Tampen region consists of a stand-alone FPSO with two drill centres in a water depth of approximately 410m. Gas will be exported from the FPSO to an established gas export pipeline system.

The work includes delivery of an approved design package for in field and export pipelines, control systems, risers and umbilicals as well as budget and schedule estimates to support BG Group’s plan for field development and operation.

Gerwyn Williams, Group managing director, J P Kenny said, “We are delighted to be awarded this contract in recognition of our strong track record for successful delivery on projects in both the UK and Norwegian sectors of the North Sea. We look forward to building on our strong relationship with BG Group and aim to deliver cost reductions and schedule improvements, drawing on the experience and expertise of a large number of specialists located throughout Wood Group Kenny.

BG Norge’s Development Director, Vince Graham, said, “We are extremely pleased to award this contract to Wood Group Kenny and look forward to working together to deliver this project in a safe and timely manner.”
