Russia: DOF Subsea to Perform Geotechnical Survey for Shtokman Development AG

Bergen-based specialist subsea service company DOF Subsea Norway has been awarded a contract for the provision of Complementary Offshore Geotechnical Survey by Shtokman Development AG. DOF Subsea will commence work in the Shtokman Gas Condensate field in early September utilising own vessel Geobay.

Bergen-based specialist subsea service company DOF Subsea Norway has been awarded a contract for the provision of Complementary Offshore Geotechnical Survey by Shtokman Development AG.

DOF Subsea will commence work in the Shtokman Gas Condensate field in early September utilising own vessel Geobay. The scope of work, consisting of offshore geotechnical survey, onshore testing and reporting, will be carried out in cooperation with PeterGaz Ltd.

Duncan MacPherson, Atlantic Region Executive Vice President for DOF Subsea, says “This award is a significant milestone for DOF Subsea. We are excited to showcase our abilities to our new Russian client and look forward to providing a well executed project.”

DOF Subsea will manage the project primarily from their main facilities in Bergen along with assistance from their newly established subsidiary DOF Subsea Arctic in Moscow. DOF Subsea provides subsea construction and engineering, IRM, ROV and survey support services to the world’s major subsea markets. The company employs over 1,200 highly qualified staff and owns state of the art equipment including 25 offshore construction, diving and ROV support vessels, 31 ROVs, 1 AUV and 3 SAT and 11 air diving spreads.

In support of its growing global business, an extensive new build programme is currently underway with 3 new vessels and 5 new Triton XLX ROVs scheduled for delivery during 2010 – 2011.

The DOF Subsea Group is a specialist subsea service business that provides subsea construction, subsea engineering, inspection, repair and maintenance and survey services which involve complex and challenging engineering in an international environment.

DOF Subsea owns a large fleet of modern subsea construction, intervention and survey vessels that enable it to offer differentiated positions with its clients and work in long term relationships, which enhance service delivery and reduce overall risk. The company’s core business is project management, engineering, vessel operations, survey, remote intervention and diving operations primarily for the oil and gas sector on a worldwide basis.
