At this year’s SMM shipbuilding exhibition from the 7th to the 10th of September, MTU’s exhibits will include a new genset for diesel-electric propulsion and on-board power generation which is specifically designed to meet the needs of supply ships for wind farms or oil and gas rigs.

Developed on the basis of the proven and rugged Series 4000 “Ironmen” workboat engines, the genset’s outstanding features are efficient operation and low fuel consumption. The marine genset meets existing emissions regulations using only engineinternal technologies. Suitable particle filters are available from MTU for additional emission reductions.
