IHC Dredgers has commissioned Siemens Industry Solutions in The Hague, the Netherlands, to provide the electrical installation on board DEME’s cutter suction dredger Ambiorix – under construction at the Hardinxveld-Giessendam yard. Apart from the electrical components, to be delivered to the yard in the first quarter of 2012, Siemens will also provide engineering, project management and commissioning services.

The scope of supply consists of the main and auxiliary generators, the medium-voltage switchboard, adjustable drives for the dredging pump, bow thruster and cutter head, as well as the transformer for the onboard consumers, the transformers and motors for the winches and the motor with softstarter for the jet pump.
