AREVA is joining forces with the BELUGA HOCHTIEF Offshore joint-venture, to offer its customers a unique installation and maintenance solution for large-scale offshore wind parks in reduced time.

AREVA is responding to the new challenges faced by its customers in the booming offshore market. With this partnership, the group will provide a cost-effective new package based on a purpose-built jack up vessel designed to operate in the harshest weather conditions at greater depth. Customers will also benefit from economies of scales through the transportation of multiple sets of foundations and wind turbines during the construction phase.

Thus, AREVA is optimizing the offshore wind business model and meeting its strategic objectives to provide full lifecycle management with simplified key interfaces in the value chain: foundation installation, turbine design and erection, commissioning and maintenance services.

Anil Srivastava, CEO of AREVA Renewables underlines “With this pioneering approach, we bring significant added value to our customers: reduced risk, shorter installation and maintenance time and greater competitiveness.”

Henner Mahlstedt, Chairman of the Executive Board of HOCHTIEF Construction: “We are delighted that AREVA has entered into a long-term cooperation agreement with BELUGA HOCHTIEF Offshore for utilization of our innovative jack-up vessel. The growing offshore wind market is in urgent need of such special equipment to construct wind park of this type.”
