General Maritime has recorded a net loss of US$26.0 million for the three months ended September 30, 2010 compared to a net income of US$14.8 million for the same period in 2009. The decrease in net income was primarily the result of a 31.9 percent decrease in Time Charter Equivalent (TCE) rates to US$19,109 per day for the three month period compared to US$28,077 per day for the prior year, as well as a US$13.6 million increase in net interest expense to US$21.4 million.
