Peter Immerz is the new General Manager of RWE Dea in Turkmenistan. Immerz takes over from Heiko Oppermann, who until now held the position of General Manager of RWE Dea AG, Turkmenistan Branch.
“As the scale of our operations in Turkmenistan increases, it makes sense to expand our permanent presence on location,” explains Immerz. RWE Dea is currently preparing an environmental study scheduled to be conducted in the licence area of Block 23 in November, following approval of the operating plan by the authorities in Turkmenistan. Initial results are expected at the beginning of next year.
In 2009, RWE Dea has been awarded the exploration licence Block 23, which is located in the south-eastern region of the Caspian Sea, immediately off the Turkmenian coast.The licence area comprises about 940 square kilometres.
In the initial exploration phase, first of all an environmental study is planned to be carried out.Taking account of 2D material already available, a 3D seismic test is then to be conducted across main parts of the licence area.
