UK: BG Group Announces Changes to the Board

BG Group announced the appointment of Caio Koch-Weser as a Non-Executive Director with effect from 1 November 2010.

Commenting on the appointment, BG Group’s Chairman Sir Robert Wilson said: “We are delighted to announce this appointment. Caio’s wealth of experience in government affairs, international finance and Latin America will be a valuable addition to our Board.”

BG Group has also announced that Jürgen Dormann, Non-Executive Director, will retire on 31 December 2010.

The Board would like to extend its thanks to Jürgen for his contribution to the Company and to convey its best wishes to him for the future.

Caio Koch-Weser is Vice Chairman of Deutsche Bank Group. From 1999 to 2005 he was German Deputy Minister of Finance (State Secretary). His responsibilities included international finance (G-7 Deputy), European economic and financial affairs, as well as capital markets, banking and insurance. He was also Chairman of the Supervisory Board of German Banking and Securities Supervisory Agency (BaFin).

From 1973 to 1999, Mr. Koch-Weser was with the World Bank in Washington where he worked on Latin America, China, the Middle East and Africa and held a number of high-level positions, in particular serving as Managing Director Operations and Member of the Executive Committee. He is a German and Brazilian national, born in Brazil.

Jürgen Dormann became a Non-Executive Director in June 2005.

BG Group plc confirms that there are no details to be disclosed under Section 9.6.13 (2) – (6) of the Listing Rules. Save as noted above, Caio Koch-Weser has held no directorships in publicly-quoted companies in the past five years.
