Plans are being made to tap Smørbukk North-East field as a satellite development tied in to the Åsgard B platform offshore Norway. Operator Statoil has indicated that the satellite which is estimated to contain 16 million boe including gas oil and condensate will be brought onstream in December next year – two years earlier than the original schedule which was to bring the field onstream in 2013 – at an estimated cost close to NKr 1 Bn (US $165 m).
