Framo Engineering AS and Total E&P Angola have recently signed a contract to supply a subsea Pumping System for the CLOV Development Project, located in the deepwater Block 17 offshore Angola.
The contract between Total and Framo represents one of four main contracts placed by Total for this Project. The contract period is 35 months and delivery shall take place in Angola in 2013. The contract includes the supply of a Suction Anchor, Subsea Pump Module (Framo FDS) with two Framo Hx pumps (multiphase), Umbilical System & topside Power & Control Module (PCM).
Managing Director of Framo Engineering AS, Ole G. Steine says, “This contract represents a major milestone for Framo as a System Supplier and is first of all viewed as a recognition of the significance of boosting for increased recovery/flow assurance, and also for the long track record of the Framo Subsea Pump technology and the recent work performed for Total’s Pazflor Project, also located in Block 17. Framo Engineering is very appreciative of Total’s, the Partner’s and Sonangol’s commitment to implement the multiphase technology for this important CLOV field development and to the Angolan territory”.
The CLOV development comprises the Cravo, Lirio, Orquidea and Violeta fields. A total of 34 subsea wells will be tied back to the CLOV FPSO unit, which has a processing capacity of 160,000 b/d and a storage capacity of 1.78 million barrels. The Framo FDS module will be located downstream four production manifolds for boosting the Miocene oil production back to the FPSO. Partners in CLOV are Total, Statoil, Esso and BP.
