Finally, it has been confirmed, the rumour that has been circling in the market for a while: Wisby Tankers is investing heavily and has ordered two 15,000 DWT asphalt tankers at 3 Maj Shipyard in Rijeka, Croatia. The vessels, among the largest of their kind, will be built acording to the yard’s own design and have a price tag in the region of USD 35 million each. “The ships will operate in North Africa where we have well established contacts for several years”, says Johan Markström at Wisby Tankers.
