AMC Engineering Ltd, the main arm of AMC Global Group, is on track to report record turnover for its current financial year.

For the six months to the end of October Aberdeen torque equipment specialists AMC Engineering Ltd have recorded a turnover in excess of £7.5million and the company is predicting that figure will exceed the £14million target by the end of the financial year.

During the past six months alone, the company has employed more than 25 new personnel in various disciplines in a recruitment campaign which is set to continue until at least the end of the year. In addition, up to ten new staff will be employed at AMC Torque Solutions Inc’s new 2,500 square foot Houston service hub at North Sam Houston Parkway East, within a one mile radius of most of the major oil and gas service companies.

Commenting from the AMC headquarters in Findon on the successful first half of the financial year, AMC Engineering Ltd managing director Andrew Polson (photo) said: “When I took control in 2004, the annual turnover was £1.4million and now we are averaging that for our monthly revenue, representing a 1000% increase in seven years.

“That is a remarkable achievement and testament to the hard work and dedication of our excellent team which we have and continue to expand, developing, producing and maintaining our quality products.

“Back in 2004, we employed 12 people and now the total has exceeded 80. We have come a long way in a fairly short time and anticipate that growth to continue, both financially and geographically.

“Following on from previous successes enjoyed in the Houston area, the new service centre will undoubtedly have a positive impact, focussing on the entire Americas from Canada to Brazil. We are already looking to the eastern hemisphere for a location for another base and Australia is currently emerging as a front runner in that discussion.”

Andrew added: “In addition we are committed to expanding our workshop at Lybster in Caithness and plans are in the pipeline to progress this development at the earliest available opportunity. This will undoubtedly lead to the creation of new jobs in due course, benefiting the community with locally-based employment opportunities.”

AMC Engineering Ltd was established in 1988 and supplies major oil and gas service companies across the world in the bespoke design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of market leading torque equipment and associated products. Key Global markets include Africa, North and South America, Canada, Europe, the Far East, Middle East and Russia. The company recently announced that it has completed manufacture of the world’s largest Fully Rotational Torque unit for the Brazilian market in a project worth more than £600,000.
