AWE Limited reports that at 0900 hours today, the Silvereye-1 exploration well was at a depth of 1,112 metres and preparing to drill ahead in 12-1/4” hole after running 13-3/8” casing.
Progress for the week was 972 metres.
Silvereye-1 is an exploration well located in the offshore Bass Basin within exploration permit T/44P. The well is located approximately 65 kilometres west of the Yolla gas platform and approximately 27 kilometres west of the Trefoil gas field.
The well is targeting gas within Paleocene and Cretaceous sands of the Eastern View Coal Measures. Silvereye-1 is designed as a deviated well to be drilled to a total measured depth of 2,400 metres.
