Nordic LNG has entered into supply agreements with two major industrial enterprises in Lilla Edet (approximately 50km north of Gothenburg). LNG deliveries via tank-lorries from new terminal at Øra near Fredrikstad will start during the summer of 2011.
Knauf Danogips GmbH, Inlands Kartongbruk
Develops, manufactures, markets and sells paper and cardboard primarily for the gypsum board industry, but also for other purposes. It is part of the worldwide Knauf group of companies, which is one of the key players in the European gypsum board market.
Director Åke Andersröd looks forward to being able to convert the boiler system from oil to natural gas early in the summer of 2011:
“We have been looking at various alternatives for reducing our emissions, especially of CO2 and NOx, and a conversion to LNG will constitute a significant environmental improvement on our part. We are extremely satisfied to be able to save money at the same time as we reduce the impact on the environment,” says Andersröd.
SCA Hygiene Products AB Edet Bruk
SCA employs a total of about 52,000 persons and has a turnover in the region of SEK 100 billion, making it one of the largest companies in Sweden.
The factory at Lilla Edet produces more than 100,000 tonnes of soft paper annually, and approximately 85% of its production is based on recycled paper. “Edet” is one of the oldest and best known brands in Sweden.
Procurement Manager Mikael Ståhl confirms that the conversion from LPG to LNG in the production fits the corporation’s environmental profile very well: “SCA places great emphasis on reducing our emissions as far as possible. Our environmental effort is not regarded as an expense by the corporation, but rather as a prerequisite for being able to develop a successful and prosperous company.”
